“A Few Things You Need to Know”
The bombing of Gaza resumed again this morning at 7 am Amman time. Many Jordanians/Palestinians believed this ceasefire would hold and the bombing would not continue.
There are a few key things happening we all need to be aware of, and unless you are paying attention and actively seeking multiple news sources, you will miss it.
One of them is The New York Times released an article early this morning claiming that Israel knew about Hamas’s Oct 7 attack over a year ago. The article states, “Israeli officials obtained Hamas’s battle plan for the Oct 7 terrorist attack more than a year before it happened, documents, emails, and interviews show. But Israeli military officials dismissed the plan as aspirational, considering it too difficult for Hamas to carry out.” It would seem Israel’s “September 11th” has even more in common with the US than we could have ever dreamed of. One key difference is Israeli newspapers have reported that many people who were killed on Oct 7th were killed by Israel’s own gunfire from their helicopters and tanks. Israel has also admitted that around 200 hundred people they claimed were killed by Hamas, were actually Hamas fighters that were burned beyond recognition and they have just learned they were part of Hamas, rather than Israelis. For those who have been watching the release of the Palestinian child prisoners from Israel in the past few days, they have all corroborated the same story. After October 7 happened, they were deprived of food and water, beatings and torture increased, and all of them were threatened by the IDF that if they spoke to journalists about what happened to them in prison, they would be arrested again. One boy who was released came out with 2 broken arms and had not received any medical attention. Ahed Tamimi who was released a few days ago told journalists the IDF told her if she spoke publicly, they would kill her father who is also in custody. We watched live from East Jerusalem as a 14-year-old boy was released and returned home. He had been imprisoned for 5 months with out any charges as has been the case for the majority of prisoners released. Perhaps the one who has affected me the most is a girl named Zeina Abdo who was arrested when she was 16 for posting a Palestinian flag on social media. She is now 18 and was part of the prisoner exchange. She detailed what happened with her to journalists. She reported having tear gas sprayed in her face several times, multiple beatings, and being prisoned in a room for 6 days with soldiers who interrogated her, tortured her, and threatened her. A few days ago, social media outlets and “Israel Today,” were reporting there is an initiative in the US Congress to distribute all the Palestinians in Gaza among 4 countries: Turkey, Egypt, Iraq, and Yemen. Al-Jazeera is now reporting it so I feel compelled to share what those of us always knew the plan was from the beginning. The initiative from Congress calls for US aid to Arab countries to be contingent on them receiving all the Palestinians from Gaza. The plan was presented and received the blessing of many members of Congress and the House. The proposal has divided the Palestinians from Gaza up into these four countries and you can see how they have divided them in the pictures below. These people will be moved into camps and likely stay there the rest of their lives if this comes to fruition. History will repeat itself; will the world allow it this time?
Meanwhile, rumor has it many settler movements are pushing the Israeli government to re-build Jewish settlements in the north of Gaza. I told you in my very first post to watch this, as it was always the plan to ethnically cleanse the Palestinians from Gaza. We will see what happens in the coming weeks and days.
Finally, this week I saw Fundamental Evangelical Christians visiting Israel and giving money to IDF soldiers---this is nothing new. It is something that American Fundamentalists do quite often and is no secret. It is a routine part of many fundamental Holy Land tours. I was particularly struck this time, watching these Christians write their names on missiles that are going to bomb Gaza. I have seen it before, but currently there is an active war in Gaza with the large majority being killed women and children. These missiles are going to kill more kids and innocent civilians in Gaza. It is something so ugly, so sick, and so anti-Christ. Jesus must be literally weeping watching what people are doing in His name. If there is ever any question as to why the younger generation of America wants nothing to do with this version of Christianity, it is because they could no longer find humanity or Jesus in this theology. They didn’t walk away from Christianity. They walked away from this version of religion which lost sight of who Jesus really is a long time ago.
